Slow Soul Sunday

Sunday 16 October 2022 10.00-13.00

“Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop once in a while, you could miss it.” ~ Unknown

Slowing down does not come easy for most of us. Our modern world means we're often juggling a multitude of personal and professional things that if we're not careful we can get swept away in the rush of it all and quickly become overwhelmed.

For this reason and the fact that slowing down has been a long process for me and a practice I've gained so much benefited from, I have created 'Slow Soul Sundays'.

This mini retreat will give you time and space to nourish yourself from the inside out. To be supported so that you can rest with no agenda, expectations or needing to 'do' anything.

Think of these an antidote to the crazy mess the world is in and a way to find peace, solace and calm, a kind of 'mini retreat' that will leave you feeling grounded, rested and a little bit slower (body and mind!) as you approach a new working week.

Through yoga, mindfulness and breathwork we will create space in the mind, body and soul and re-learn what it means to go slower. Allow yourself to be held in a safe space where you can be just as you are.

Although full lived on the mat, I'll offer tools and techniques that can be used off the mat to maintain this sense of slowing down.

This will be perfect for you if you:

  • find it difficult to create the time for a full retreat
  • experience the 'Sunday blues' as the weekend comes to a close
  • find yourself juggling a multitude of things and reaching overwhelm
  • are looking for tools and techniques that you can use in everyday life to re-learn how to slow down
  • need some inner nourishment and deep rest

No experience necessary, just a readiness to journey inwards.

This mini retreat will take place in-person at The Kinsbourne Barn (more details below) but we will also live stream via Zoom so you'll have the choice of whether to join us in-person or online. In-person places are limited to 10 and sell out quickly so do book your space if you'd like to join us.

Early Bird Offer available until 4th Sept - £55 after this date.

by Liz Hobman

'Louise has a very unique approach to teaching yoga, drawing learning from nature, neuroscience and nourishing spiritual teachings! I love the variety in her programmes, which combine mindfulness practices, movement and postures, readings and poetry, with wisdom and warmth. I am learning so much about how the mind, body and spirit can work together to cultivate compassion, strength and resilience for ourselves and those around us.'

  • Meditative yin yoga and restorative postures to relax and heal the body

  • Delicious homemade treats with tea to complete the morning (for those in-person)

  • Mindfulness techniques that you can take away to integrate into your life

'A priceless gift'

by Liza Timpson

'These are more than yoga sessions! Louise has a gift at transferring a real sense of inner calm and peace, in what has been very challenging times. Her lessons are creative and extremely useful in understanding how to cope in challenging situations. I informed a friend quite simply attending online has been a game changer for me. I feel ready to conquer my day or week ahead. A priceless gift.'

What you can expect

This mini retreat will begin with welcome warming tea and a settling meditation to ground and become present, to set intentions and recognise where we are at this time. We’ll move slowly into a soft flowing yoga practice to gently open the body and awaken subtle energies. We'll transition into deeply nourishing yin and restorative yoga before completing the practice with a powerful yoga nidra (lying down meditation). To top off the day we will close with meditation and pranayama as well as reflections over tea and sweet treats.

Absolutely no experience necessary, just a readiness to journey inwards.

The day will look something like this:

10.00-10.15 – Welcome warming tea and settling in

10.15-10.45 – Intention setting meditation

10.45-11.15 – Gently flowing mindful movement

11.15-12.15 – Grounding yin and restorative yoga

12.15-12.45 – Blissful yoga nidra session

12.45-13.00 – Closing meditation and reflections

'Classes are a life-line'

by Cathy Washbrooke

'Louise’s classes are a life-line! She is a very warm, nurturing and knowledgeable teacher. She also integrates elements of mindfulness through various readings, poetry and insights to deepen the practice and allow deep rest to take place. 'Yoga gives us peace and clarity in order to see the beauty and wonder that is all around us'

Louise Neicho

Having spent the first 20 years of my professional life working in and with nature I feel a deep connection to the natural world that has promoted numerous benefits in my life. Combining this with a love and appreciation of yoga and mindfulness that spans two decades (9 of them teaching) has enabled me to share practices that help us connect more deeply with nature and ourselves. I have completed over 1000hrs of yoga and mindfulness teacher training and I’m excited to be currently studying an MSc in Mindfulness and Neuroscience. I can honestly say that yoga and nature has saved my life on more than one occasion, and I don’t think I would be the person I am today if it wasn’t for my practice. To bring all of this together is simply a dream come true and I hope you will join me and our like-minded community soon.

'Louise is so kind and caring'

by Emma Scinaldi

'I started as a complete beginner and was worried I would not be able to follow the moves, but Louise is so kind and caring, plus really knows her stuff so is able to give very clear, supportive guidance. There is never any pressure as Louise always offers alternatives. With care and kindness she has encouraged me to really develop my practice. I always feel really energised after a session with Louise but I am also starting to notice a higher level of peace and tranquility in my day to day life. I feel strong and calm at the same time!
