The Precious Present

Four yoga classes to create Presence

“The present is what is. It is precious. Even if you don’t know why. It is already just the way it is supposed to be." ~ Spencer Johnson

The Precious Present is an incredible little story about the ultimate secret of human happiness. Author Dr Spencer Johnson's unique tale tells of a young child who learns about the fabulous precious present and then spends a lifetime searching for the mysterious gift.

I've used the inspiration of this story to create four brand-new yoga classes designed to awaken within you the ability to be present and access joy and happiness that lives within.

Ranging between 35 and 50 minutes long, in four different styles of yoga, they are the perfect way to explore how you can bring more presence into everyday life.

Four styles of yoga to choose from:

  • Yin Yoga

Yin allows you to completely draw your awareness inwards and search deep down for understanding. On a physical level it deeply stretches the body’s connective tissue, particularly around the pelvic, hips and spine. A wonderfully relaxing, releasing class to help you ground and become present no matter what your week has thrown at you!

  • Flow & Reflect

Harmonise your breath and movement to build strength, stamina and freedom in your body. Explore the deeper connections between poses while listening to your own beautiful rhythm. Ending with a guided meditation and pranayama to deeply ground and bring you into the present moment.

  • Gentle & Restorative

A softer, gentler approach focusing on your breath, your anchor and fluid, safe movements allowing you to awaken the energy within rather than deplete it. It will target what you can do rather than what you can’t. You will have the time and space to listen to your body and work at your own pace.

  • Sunrise

Kick start your week and those happy brain chemicals (aka serotonin!) with this short but sweet yoga practice that will focus on waking up the body and mind. We will create a moving meditation, ease out aches and pains, find rhythm for the breath and set positive intentions for the week ahead.

'Yoga gives us peace and clarity in order to see the beauty and wonder that is all around us'

Louise Neicho

I have been practicing yoga for over 20 years and teaching for 8 and have completed around 1000hrs of teacher training. I can honestly say that yoga has saved my life on more than one occasion and I don’t think I would be the person I am today if it wasn’t for my practice. My fascination with the human brain has also started to seep into my practice and teachings and I’m excited to be studying an MSc in Mindfulness and Neuroscience. To bring all of this together is simply a dream come true and I hope you will join me and our like-minded community soon.

'Guaranteed to find peace'

by Becci Madole

Lockdown - like life! - has presented a unique set of challenges and stresses. The one place I’ve been guaranteed to find some peace has been in my practice. After a few weeks of going ‘solo’ I was so grateful to find Louise’s classes. They gave my practice variety and focus and added an element of mindfulness and positivity I hadn’t managed in my own. Even on the days I wasn’t sure I had the energy or patience, I only had to find the will to roll out my mat and logon (sometimes in my pjs!). Without fail I found a special something in every class that made me grateful I’d joined.

'Louise has an in depth knowledge'

by Melanie Sparks

Louise has an in-depth knowledge and explains in an understanding and gentle way. She enables her students to explore themselves and their thoughts within her sessions and beyond.

'suit all levels'

by Julie O'Shea

With the online classes I can many more classes per week. It has made such a difference to my strength, mobility and sense of focus. Lou is a great teacher and the classes are well structured to incorporate mindfulness, meditation and wellbeing.

Your Questions Answered

  • What do I need to begin?

You will need a yoga mat and comfortable clothing that you can easily move around in, PJ’s work well for this! For some of the classes you will need some props, but we have been experimenting with household pillows, cushions and blankets in place of traditional yoga props. I will let you know at the beginning of class what you need.
