The Winter Solstice Series

Seven yoga and meditation classes to invite in the wisdom of winter

“The Winter Solstice is the time of ending and beginning, a powerful time – a time to contemplate your immortality. A time to forgive, to be forgiven, and to make a fresh start. A time to awaken."  ~ Frederick Lenz

The Winter Solstice Series is a powerful way to invite in the wisdom of winter and let yourself be held in this time of standing still and drawing inwards just as nature is.

We have a tendency to want to rush from winter to spring without soaking up the benefits of winter. Here you will be able to explore the true meaning of winter and how you can embrace it.

Ranging between 15 and 35 minutes long, each class is designed to be used on their own when time is tight or all together to create your very own workshop - pick and choose which ones suits you.

WHAT'S INCLUDED:

  • You can choose from a seated or lying down meditation where we explore our reflections of the year and what we'd like to sow for the New Year.
  • There are two flowing practices - one gentle and one more dynamic.
  • If you prefer some restorative or yin yoga you can choose those or add them onto one of the flowing practices.
  • And there is a deep yoga nidra practice that can used at the begin or end of your session or used on its own.
  • PLUS there's a journaling exercise to help you move forward beyond the solstice and into the New Year.

I enjoyed this course very much as the classes were good to fit in during a busy time, and easier to do more frequently because they were short but also enough to make a difference to my days which were better when I did find that time for them. Thanks Louise as ever for your inspiration!

'Yoga gives us peace and clarity in order to see the beauty and wonder that is all around us'

Louise Neicho

Having spent the first 20 years of my professional life working in and with Nature I feel a deep connection to the natural world that has promoted numerous benefits in my life. Combining this with a love and appreciation of yoga and mindfulness that spans over two decades has enabled me to share practices that help us connect more deeply with Nature and ourselves. I have completed over 1000hrs of yoga and mindfulness teacher training and in 2023 I received a distinction for my master's degree in Mindfulness where my thesis focused on the wellbeing benefits of connecting with Nature. I can honestly say that yoga and Nature has saved my life on more than one occasion, and I don’t think I would be the person I am today if it wasn’t for my practice. To bring all of this together is simply a dream come true and I hope you will join me and our like-minded community soon.

'Guaranteed to find peace'

by Becci Madole

Lockdown - like life! - has presented a unique set of challenges and stresses. The one place I’ve been guaranteed to find some peace has been in my practice. After a few weeks of going ‘solo’ I was so grateful to find Louise’s classes. They gave my practice variety and focus and added an element of mindfulness and positivity I hadn’t managed in my own. Even on the days I wasn’t sure I had the energy or patience, I only had to find the will to roll out my mat and logon (sometimes in my pjs!). Without fail I found a special something in every class that made me grateful I’d joined.

'suit all levels'

by Julie O'Shea

With the online classes I can do many more classes per week. It has made such a difference to my strength, mobility and sense of focus. Lou is a great teacher and the classes are well structured to incorporate mindfulness, meditation and wellbeing.

Your Questions Answered

  • What do I need to begin?

You will need a yoga mat and comfortable clothing that you can easily move around in, PJ’s work well for this! For some of the classes you will need some props, but we have been experimenting with household pillows, cushions and blankets in place of traditional yoga props. I will let you know at the beginning of class what you need.
