Join Louise and mindful artist, Eleanor Langton for this whole day retreat to explore the various forms of rest and how they can support your physical, emotional and spiritual wellbeing.

Learn tools and techniques to bring rest into daily life and rediscover the joy of your creative self.

When did you last try new things?

Trying new things sparks the beginners mind which is curious and open. It effortlessly creates presence and focuses the mind, moving us away from negative thought patterns.

When did you last do something just for the joy of it?

Our busy lives mean we rarely have time to play, to do things just for the joy of them, without fear of failure or an end goal. When we do, we can release our tendencies for perfectionism and instead find our innate creativity.

When did you last give yourself time to deeply rest?

In our 24/7 world, rest is often seen as a weakness, and we only stop when the to-do list is complete or when our bodies force us to. By slowing down and pausing we give ourselves a chance to reach our full potential and live life with a feeling of wellness.

Here’s what Louise and Eleanor have planned for this retreat:

MOVE.

Louise will guide you through a gentle, mindful yoga practice that will shift energies, shake out tension, and open your imagination, ready for the creative part of the retreat.

She will weave in theory around the various forms of rest and how we can bring these into everyday life. You’ll also be treated to a deeply relaxing yoga nidra practice with sound therapy.

CREATE.

Eleanor will guide you through a mindful art practice exploring an abstract approach using simple shapes and watching the ink and water merge, it is mesmerising!

You will also learn simple floral forms and apply the techniques learnt in the first approach. Eleanor will invite you to let go of any negative associations with ‘being good at art’ and give you tools to reground yourself frequently.

REST.

To complete the day, Louise will really slow things down using long held restorative yoga poses and breathwork to deeply calm and rest the nervous system.

She will conclude the day with reflections on how we can bring the Art of Rest into daily life. You will also receive resources following the day to continue to explore what you’ve learnt.

This ‘Art of Rest’ Retreat is for you if:

You’re interested in exploring various forms of yoga (you could be a complete beginner),

You’re looking for some creative inspiration - on the mat - and for life,

You’re curious about (or very interested in) mindfulness, meditation and / or creative wellbeing techniques,

You’d love to unlock your creativity or maybe creativity is already part of your life, and you’re interested in more mindful or self-reflective practices to go alongside it,

You have an open mind to play, and are keen to be supported in trying new things,

Life feels full and you’re looking for a day to break from routine and give yourself time to rest,

Your Teachers

Meet your experienced teachers that will guide through a unique 'Art of Rest' day

Louise Neicho

Having spent the first 20 years of my professional life working in and with Nature I feel a deep connection to the natural world that has promoted numerous benefits in my life. Combining this with a love and appreciation of yoga and mindfulness that spans over two decades has enabled me to share practices that help us connect more deeply with Nature and ourselves. I have completed over 1000hrs of yoga and mindfulness teacher training and in 2023 I received a distinction for my master's degree in Mindfulness where my thesis focused on the wellbeing benefits of connecting with Nature. I can honestly say that yoga and Nature has saved my life on more than one occasion, and I don’t think I would be the person I am today if it wasn’t for my practice. To bring all of this together is simply a dream come true and I hope you will join me and our like-minded community soon.

"balanced with the right amount of everything"

by Elaine Johnson

“The retreats are always balanced with the right amount of everything. There's something about allowing yourself to attend a day long retreat that makes it different. Finding time for short practices in the week around work/life can feel pressured, but a whole day seems easier to find and dedicate.”

Eleanor Langton

Discovering restorative yoga and the practice of stillness and rest has been transformative for Eleanor’s mental health and well-being; and it is from this experience she is compelled to share the joy of yoga. She creates calming sequences with time for you to check in and explore your inner state, with a good dose of humour too. Eleanor offers many styles of yoga and restful practices. She has a keen interest in helping students learn to rest well. Classes that she offers are Yin, Flow to Yin, Restorative, Fertility and Menopause yoga. 'Louise is so kind and caring'

by Emma Scinaldi

'I started as a complete beginner and was worried I would not be able to follow the moves, but Louise is so kind and caring, plus really knows her stuff so is able to give very clear, supportive guidance. There is never any pressure as Louise always offers alternatives. With care and kindness she has encouraged me to really develop my practice. I always feel really energised after a session with Louise but I am also starting to notice a higher level of peace and tranquility in my day to day life. I feel strong and calm at the same time!
