Nature can captivate our attention, ignite inspiration, and facilitate healing. We have an inherent desire to connect with Nature, yet our modern way of living can cut us off from the joy, calmness and beauty that she offers.

Louise spent the best part of a year studying the effects of Nature connection on wellbeing for her MSc in Mindfulness and is delighted to be offering this ‘Soulful Nature Retreat’ that will be an immersive experience to reconnect to the abundant benefits that Nature offers.

It will take place in the peaceful surroundings of Cucumber Fields in Essendon, Herts, set amongst glorious woodlands, apple orchards and animal paddocks. We’ll practice outdoors with Nature as much as possible but will also have the cosy, warm space of the heated yurt to retreat to.

This retreat is for everybody, complete beginners are very welcome, come just as you are!

Here’s what Louise has planned for this retreat:

REJUVENATE

Louise will guide you through a gentle, Nature-based yoga practice focusing on grounding and receiving support from the Earth. She will weave in theory around the myriad of benefits that Nature can offer and how we can connect to this daily to support our wellbeing.

RECONNECT

To conclude the morning, we’ll explore Nature-based mindfulness meditation through various sensory awareness practices that will help awaken us to our present moment experience and to the wonder and mystery of Nature.

REWILD

After a plant-based, nourishing lunch we’ll take a Nature walk to the nearby ancient woodland where Louise will share some of her 20+years of experience in environmental conservation. We’ll explore our interconnection with Nature through the breath, mindful meditations and physical connections to the land.

REST

We’ll return to our cosy yurt space for an afternoon of deep, healing rest through restorative yoga accompanied by the sounds and energy of Nature all around us.

This Soulful Nature Retreat is for you if:

•    You’re interested in exploring various forms of yoga and mindfulness (you could be a complete beginner),

•    You have an inner yearning to connect with Nature on a deeper level,

•    You’re curious about (or very interested in) mindfulness, meditation and / or Nature connections as wellbeing techniques,

Louise Neicho

Having spent the first 20 years of my professional life working in and with Nature I feel a deep connection to the natural world that has promoted numerous benefits in my life. Combining this with a love and appreciation of yoga and mindfulness that spans over two decades has enabled me to share practices that help us connect more deeply with Nature and ourselves. I have completed over 1000hrs of yoga and mindfulness teacher training and in 2023 I received a distinction for my master's degree in Mindfulness where my thesis focused on the wellbeing benefits of connecting with Nature. I can honestly say that yoga and Nature has saved my life on more than one occasion, and I don’t think I would be the person I am today if it wasn’t for my practice. To bring all of this together is simply a dream come true and I hope you will join me and our like-minded community soon.

"Balanced with the right amount of everything"

by Elaine Johnson

“The retreats are always balanced with the right amount of everything. There's something about allowing yourself to attend a day long retreat that makes it different. Finding time for short practices in the week around work/life can feel pressured, but a whole day seems easier to find and dedicate.”

This day retreat will be filled with:

  • Gentle, Nature-based yoga practices

  • Nature-based meditations and connections

  • An exploration of the myriad of benefits that Nature can offer

  • Delicious, healthy homemade plant-based lunch

  • An opportunity to journey inwards and find deep rest and nourishment

  • Resources to take home and continue to connect to Nature

'A unique approach to yoga and mindfulness'

by Liz Hobman

'Louise has a very unique approach to teaching yoga and mindfulness, drawing learning from nature, neuroscience and nourishing spiritual teachings! I love the variety in her programmes, which combine mindfulness practices, movement and postures, readings and poetry, with wisdom and warmth. I am learning so much about how the mind, body and spirit can work together to cultivate compassion, strength and resilience for ourselves and those around us.'

'Louise is so kind and caring'

by Emma Scinaldi

'I started as a complete beginner and was worried I would not be able to follow the moves, but Louise is so kind and caring, plus really knows her stuff so is able to give very clear, supportive guidance. There is never any pressure as Louise always offers alternatives. With care and kindness she has encouraged me to really develop my practice. I always feel really energised after a session with Louise but I am also starting to notice a higher level of peace and tranquility in my day to day life. I feel strong and calm at the same time!
